ABOUT GoDoG
What is GoDoG?
GoDoG is a Brooklyn-based dog care company built on relationship, not volume. We donāt treat dogs like inventory or interchangeable bookings. Each dog is cared for as an individual, with a level of attention, intuition, and emotional presence that reflects how seriously we take this work. For many clients, working with GoDoG feels less like hiring outside help and more like extending their dogās circle of care.
What makes GoDoG different from other dog walking companies?
We donāt try to sum this up with a slogan. What we hear most often comes from longtime clients and walkers whoāve worked elsewhere. They consistently tell us that our attention to detail, handling skill, and overall standard of care are on another level.
GoDoG wasnāt bought, franchised, or launched on a platform. It was built from the ground up, dog by dog, walk by walk. That origin still shapes how we operate today, and many of our clients have been with us since 2008.
How long has GoDoG been in business?
GoDoG has been serving Brooklyn dogs since 2008. What began as a one-person operation grew organically into a small, experienced team, without losing the hands-on involvement, judgment, and care standards that defined the company from the start.
Who will be walking my dog?
Our walkers are chosen for more than experience alone. While technical skill matters, warmth, intuition, patience, and the ability to read dogs as individuals matter just as much. We are a small team, and dogs tend to build familiarity with more than one walker.
How does GoDoG approach dog walking and pet care?
We see dog care as stewardship of a relationship that has existed for thousands of years. Dogs are social, intelligent, and deeply relational beings.
Every dog is approached as an individual first. When dogs are walked together, grouping and rotation are done thoughtfully, guided by energy, safety, flow, and overall structure.
Getting sTarted
Do you require a Meet & Greet before starting services?
Yes. A Meet & Greet is required before services begin. This meeting is typically held in your home, where your dog will be picked up for walks.
What happens during a Meet & Greet?
Meet & Greets are conducted by the owner or manager. We get to know your dog, review routines, discuss gear and safety considerations, and align on expectations. Two sets of keys are collected whenever possible.
What information do you need before the first walk?
Clients create a secure online profile including dog history, behavioral notes, medications, veterinary information, access instructions, and scheduling preferences.
How do you handle keys and building access?
Two sets of keys are required whenever possible. If keys cannot be copied, alternate access methods are arranged ahead of time.
WALK STRUCTURE & SCHEDULING
Do you offer solo walks or group walks?
Our default service is small group walks (2ā4 dogs). Solo walks are reserved for dogs who are elderly, medically fragile, aggressive, or unsafe to walk with others.
How long are your walks?
Our standard walk is 45 minutes. We also offer 15, 30, and 60-minute walks when appropriate. Walk lengths may be adjusted for safety or weather, and any changes are reflected on invoices.
Do you guarantee exact walk times?
We operate within arrival windows rather than exact appointment times. Notifications are sent when walkers arrive and depart, followed by detailed updates.
Can I request a specific walker?
Preferences are welcome, but we do not guarantee a single walker. Dogs often build relationships with a few team members.
WEATHER, SAFETY & EMERGENCIES
Do you walk in bad weather?
Yes. We do not cancel due to weather unless conditions are genuinely dangerous. Walk length and routes are adjusted as needed.
What safety measures do you take?
Dogs are walked using appropriate, secure gear and are never left unattended. We advise clients on proper equipment for safety and comfort.
What happens if my dog gets sick or injured?
Walkers immediately contact management. Care is escalated as needed and clients are notified promptly.
What if thereās an emergency and I canāt be reached?
We act in your dogās best interest and seek veterinary care if necessary while continuing to reach you.
